Monthly van and truck hire for businesses and private customers across the UK

Frequently asked questions

Answers about rental terms, drivers, insurance, fleet management and payments. If your question isn't here, contact our team.

Rental basics

What is the minimum rental period?

Our standard minimum term is one month. After that, rentals continue month by month until you give notice. Selected plans also offer fixed terms of 3, 6 or 12 months at a lower monthly price.

Which vehicles can I rent?

Small, medium and large vans, long-wheelbase and high-roof vans, Luton and box vans with tail-lift options, and 7.5-tonne trucks. Availability varies by date, so the quickest way to check is to request a quote.

Do you deliver and collect vehicles?

Vehicles are handed over at our Peterborough base as standard. Delivery and collection elsewhere in the UK can be arranged for an additional charge, which we include in your quote.

Is there a mileage limit?

Each plan includes a monthly mileage allowance, shown on the plan page and in your agreement. Extra miles are charged at the rate set out in your agreement, and higher-mileage plans are available for delivery and logistics work.

Drivers and insurance

Who can drive a rental vehicle?

Drivers need a full driving licence valid in the UK, held for at least two years, and must be aged 23 or over. 7.5-tonne trucks require a C1 entitlement. We ask for a DVLA licence check code and proof of address before handover.

Is insurance included?

Insurance depends on the plan you choose and is stated on each plan page and in your quote. Business customers can use their own fleet insurance if it covers hired-in vehicles. We'll ask for a copy of the certificate before handover.

What happens if the vehicle breaks down?

Call the breakdown number in your vehicle pack. If the vehicle can't be fixed quickly, we arrange recovery and, where your plan includes it, a replacement vehicle so you can keep working.

Who pays for fines, tolls and congestion charges?

The hirer is responsible for parking and penalty charge notices, speeding fines, tolls and congestion or clean air zone charges incurred during the rental. Where we receive a notice, we transfer liability to the hirer or recharge it as set out in our Terms of Service.

Fleet management

Can I use fleet management for vehicles I already own?

Yes. Fleet management works for vehicles you own or lease elsewhere, as well as vehicles rented from us. We start by recording each vehicle's MOT, service and tax dates, then take over scheduling and supplier contact.

Does the subscription include the cost of repairs?

The subscription covers the management work: scheduling, booking, supplier coordination and record keeping. Parts, labour and garage charges are billed separately, and we ask for your approval before any work above a limit you set goes ahead.

Payments and cancellations

How does payment work?

You can book plans online through our secure Stripe checkout using a debit or credit card. Monthly plans are charged automatically each billing period. Business customers can apply for an account with monthly invoicing.

Is there a deposit?

Most vehicle rentals require a refundable security deposit, confirmed in your quote or agreement. It is returned after the end-of-hire inspection, less any agreed charges for damage, fuel, excess mileage or outstanding fines.

How do I end a rental or cancel a subscription?

After your minimum term, give us at least 14 days' written notice before your next billing date and we'll arrange the vehicle's return. Fleet management subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and end at the close of the current billing period. See our Refund Policy for cancellations before a rental starts.
